How to Play
Everything you need to know to start betting with your mates.
The basics
Every league you join or create gives you 10,000 starting credits. You bet those credits against your leaguemates on real football fixtures, and see who actually knows the game — no real money involved.
Creating a private league
Pick a name, a betting period, and a payout rule. The betting period is either Weekly, a fixed number of Gameweeks, or a Tournament with a set start and end date. The payout rule just describes what's at stake among your mates — winner takes all, a top-3 split, points-only bragging rights, or your own custom arrangement. You'll get an invite code to share with friends.
Joining a league
Got an invite code? Use it to join a private league. Otherwise, join the public pool for your country and favourite competition — one open leaderboard per competition, free for anyone to join.
Placing bets
From an upcoming fixture, pick Home, Draw, or Away, and choose your stake. The odds shown are locked in the moment you place your bet, so a later odds move won't affect you. Bets close at kickoff.
How odds work
We calculate our own odds from each team's recent form and home advantage, with a small built-in margin like a real sportsbook — they're not pulled from an actual bookmaker.
Settlement
Once a fixture finishes, bets settle automatically. Win, and your stake plus your winnings land back in your league balance at the odds you locked in. If a fixture is postponed or cancelled, your stake is refunded in full.
Leaderboard & payout rules
Your league's leaderboard ranks everyone by credit balance. The payout rule your league set up is just a description of what you all agreed to — Pot Rivals doesn't collect, hold, or hand out any prize itself.
Remember
Credits aren't real money and can't be cashed out. See Terms & Conditions for the details.
